Rahiri Road
Mount Eden, Auckland
The homeowner’s design for a symmetrical, patterned, exposed aggregate driveway and garden patio was prepped, placed and finished by Concrete-iT over multiple stages.
Three pours blended exposed Southern Ocean Pebble with an exposed fine aggregate grout pump mix containing black oxide, between borders of charcoal London Stonepavers.
The Concrete-iT team placed small individual slabs as well as larger slabs that later received decorative cuts. Special attention was required to align heights and fall angles between the pavers and the placed concrete.

The judges applauded Concrete-iT’s work at this Mt Eden home, which combines concrete and greenery to create a sophisticated aesthetic.
The three-uniform sized, in-situ pavers placed between the patio areas are a striking feature, connecting each slab while allowing for planting in-between.
The project was undertaken during new COVID-19 health and safety protocols, which required cooperation between the client, concrete pump operator and concrete contractor.
The Rahiri Road project offers a new take on the ‘concrete jungle concept’, surpassing the client’s expectations and seeing Concrete-iT receive accolades for its outstanding work in a residential setting.
